Why I do what I do…
Now and then people ask me: “How can you sit there and listen to other people’s problems day after day?”
Sometimes I get a reminder of why I do what I do. Here’s one that came in recently via Facebook:
Hello from one of your sicker former patients! Life is good in (a state), I finished my Masters in Social Work and I am working in home health, part-time with hospice. I teach one or two classes a term at the University here in (a city). Hope all is going well with you. I want to thank you for giving me back my life. I strive each day to give some of what you gave me to those who are now in need. Again, Thank you and God bless.
