The Best and Worst ways to talk about relationship conflict

The Best and Worst ways to talk about relationship conflict. From best to worst, here’s my list: 1. Face-to-face in real life 2. Video call 3. Voice-only call 4. Email 5. Text or chat. I will write more about why in a subsequent post. Do you disagree? Agree? Let’s talk about it.

  1. I agree. Reconnecting and mending connection happens better in person. It’s just so scary. Scary doesn’t mean impossible.

Texting is nearly impossible to connect with someone. Voice inflection and facial expressions matter. I need to work on this. It’s hard yet not impossible.

Looking forward to your follow up.

  2. Suz- I have lagged a bit on a response. You are right- nonverbal communication is extremely important. Words alone are too easily misinterpreted, especially when we are feeling defensive.
